Egg Shell Dissolving Science Experiment that Simulates Dental Health
At Morning Light Preschool, they did a fun science experiment where they studied what kinds of liquids would dissolve the shells of eggs which represented our teeth. It was a fantastic way to learn about dental health and how certain foods and drinks can impact our teeth.

Learning about teeth
The class put the eggs in different liquids and discovered that acids dissolve the outer shell of their eggs/"teeth," quite fast. Vinegar totally destroyed the egg, the juice caused cracks and got some juice inside, soda discolored the, "Tooth," and led to some slight cracking. The egg in the water stayed the same. An effort was made to, "Fix," some of the eggs, and brushing the soda one with a toothbrush and toothpaste did help, but a lot of damage had already been done. This activity illustrated how it is important to often brush our teeth so that we keep them from getting damaged.
