Gingerbread House Decorating Activity
At Leap to Learning Preschool, they made gingerbread houses and had a fantastic time decorating them! The kids learned about the history of gingerbread houses and how they originated in Germany back in the 1500s and then got to make their own modern versions of the fun craft!
Creative decorations
The kiddos used frosting as well as bits of candy, sprinkles, gumdrops, and more to make their gingerbread houses gorgeous. Here are a few more pictures of the kids at work and their amazing creations:
It is worth noting that gingerbread houses generally are just made for decoration and not eaten due to how much they are touched and the thickness of the cookies, icing, and candy. They are great to look at, however, even if not to eat!
