Groundhog Day Construction Paper Craft and Worksheet
Groundhog Day just happened on February 2nd, 20201. The holiday is famous for featuring a groundhog who pops out of his burrow. If he sees his shadow that means there will be six more weeks of winter and if he doesn't then Spring will come early. At Cuddles and Cares Childcare, they made their own groundhogs out of construction paper in honor of the holiday!
Groundhog Day Paper Craft
Materials needed for this craft
To make your own groundhog you will need the following:
*Black, brown, green, pink, and white construction paper.
*Scissors
*Glue
How to do this craft
To create your own groundhog you can follow these steps:
1. Cut a big circle out of the brown construction paper, this will be the groundhog's head.
2. Cut two small circles and two small squares out of the white construction paper, these will be the groundhog's eyes and teeth.
3.Cut two very small circles out of the black construction paper, this will be the groundhog's pupils.
4. Cut two medium-sized circles out of pink construction paper, this will be the groundhog's ears.
5. Cut a large rectangle out of the green construction paper, this will be the ground the groundhog is poking his head out of!
6. Glue the ears, eyes, teeth, and ground on top of the groundhog's head.
7. Glue the pupils into the groundhog's eyes.
8. Wait for all the glue to dry and show everyone your groundhog!
