Hands-On Learning the Lifecycle of Butterflies
At Little Ones Preschool/Kindergarten they got to learn about the lifecycle of butterflies in a hands-on manner!
From an egg to a butterfly
The kids learned how first there is an egg and then it hatches and reveals a caterpillar. The caterpillar eats lots of leaves and plants so that it gains the energy to make a cocoon and be a pupa. While it is a pupa it undergoes a process called metamorphosis. This process turns it into a butterfly (or sometimes a moth). To further ensure the children understood metamorphosis there were real-life caterpillars and butterflies they got to examine up-close and even touch! They were so neat to see and the kids really loved learning all bout the process!
