Lemon and Lime Sensory Play
At AppleTree Daycare & Preschool Center, the kids had lots of fun doing a sensory bin full of lemons and limes. The teacher cut them up and then let the kids touch, squish, and squeeze them along with various tools in a tub full of water where they floated!
Materials needed for this activity
To do your own sensory play activity you will need the following:
*Tub
*Water
*Scoops
*Cups
*Lemons
*Limes
*Butter knife
How to do this activity
To do this sensory play activity you can follow these steps:
1. Cut the lemons and limes in half and/or into slices.
2. Put the lemons and limes in the sensory bin.
3. Fill the bin with some water and add the scoops and cups to play with.
4. Let the kids start playing with the lemons and limes in your sensory bin!
5. Discuss how the lemons and limes feel texture-wise outside and inside; have the kids squish and squeeze them--encourage exploration and have fun!
