Shapes Stem for little kids
Hello Everybody!
This was a very fun and enthusiastic stem activity we had with the kids in our school, on the beginning of the semester. They were learning about primary shapes, and we wanted the students to feel each one of them in a practical way.
They were given play dough in different colors and toothpicks (popsicle sticks work too, and then they were asked to use their imagination to attach the corners of the shapes using play dough. For the little ones, some demonstration is needed, but with the older children it's even more fun if add a "challenge" element. Just ask them to make shapes with the material provided, and take a look on what it may happen. It may surprise you!
The older students got the chance to do the same activity, but with an extra difficulty. They were supposed to make 3D shapes, aside from the basic ones. It was lots of fun!
