Creative Building, Stacking, and Sorting During Free Play with Mixed Objects for PreschoolersI often share the table top activities that I set up for my students to explore. These usually enforce our current unit. It could seem that that is all we do in our classroom from the posts.Actually, my favorite part of teaching young children is when they are completely engaged in the creative process. This can be in the building area, dramatic play, and many other areas. My motto is to set things out for them, but let them decide the direction it will go. This needs a long work period and freedom of choice, materials and movement. All of which, I treasure and encourage. It is within this freedom and extended work time that play is truly magical. Here are some examples of my student’s creative play.
