Building a Kidtropolis for Dramatic Play

At Kids Collaborate they used an assorted of big and small cardboard boxes to build their very own imaginary city for dramatic play! They named it Kidtropolis and it allowed the children to pretend to wander around a big city full of houses and businesses.

Arts and Imagination

Making Kidtropolis involved everyone using their art-skills and imagination. The kids took turns decorating boxes to make them look like homes or businesses. They drew on them with markers and colored them in to make them appear very authentic.

A large sheet of paper was used to create the, "Road," which children drew on with crayons to design all kinds of highways, byways, and cars!

Designing Kidtropolis then allowed the children to engage in dramatic play where they pretended to live and work at the locations they created! It was great fun!
