Firefighters Dramatic Play!
October is Fire Safety awareness. Children love to learn all about what firefighters do. Miss Vicki’s Daycare set up their own Fire station. There are costumes to put on, a fire station tent, fire trucks to drive, and so much more.
They made an apartment building out of cardboard and added pockets to sit the people and fire in. Then took a black pool noodle and added blue tissue paper to make fire hoses to put out fire. The children can rescue people from the building!
They also added in books about firefighters and stuffed Dalmatians to the library area. They also added a phone for the children to practice dialing 911. In the small world area blocks were painted like fire to put in the houses. The children can learn two ways out. In the block area firefighter figures, people and fire were added.
And finally lots of printables to practice counting, patterns, Letter recognition.
