"If You Take a Mouse To School"
This is a very easy and fun craft/activity for Preschool children. It can be used during the first days of school. Many of us love the books by "Laura Numeroff". And this book"If You Take A Mouse To School" is no exception. I use this book as a tool to work with the children on teaching them about all the areas in the classroom and how they are used. You can also use this as a segway to discuss classroom rules and expectations.
I liked this book for Preschoolers as it is very colorful and easy for them to understand. I added two different activities that I tied into the story. One is a sheet of paper with a picture of a school and the mouse which I found on the internet. I added the the line,"If you take a mouse to school it will. " and the child can tell the teacher and the teacher can write it down. Then the children can draw a picture of something the mouse or the child would like to do at preschool. The other activity is a gluing craft of a mouse. These activities will have the children practicing their drawing, coloring and glueing skills.
