Making Sand Foam For Summer Fun!

Katherine of Little Hands Therapy had a fun sensory bin activity you can do at home too: Sand foam. She describes it as, ". like wet sand but fluffier and lighter which makes it a whole lot more fun!"

How to Make Sand Foam

To make sand foam you need:

  • A tub to hold the sand foam
  • Sand
  • Shaving cream

Once you have all the materials you need to mix the shaving cream into the sand until it feels like a light and fluffy wet sand that can easily be squished and packed together in fun ways.

Things to Do With Sand Foam

Once you've made sand foam you can do all sorts of fun things with it! Here are some ideas:

  • Pack it into muffin tins.
  • Build little sandcastles.
  • Scoop and dump it with tools.
  • Sculpt it into neat shapes.
  • Anything else you can think of doing!
