Rainbow Sensory Bin Ideas
At Woodmar Child Care, they made a rainbow sensory bin with four-leaf clovers, plastic gold coins, and other things associated with leprechauns (who are famous for their gold by rainbows).
A beautiful bin
There were multiple colors of rice that created all the colors of the rainbow--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, and some white rice as that makes-up all the colors combined in the light spectrum! The kids loved filled and dumping the rice, making the rainbow one big mixture of colors!
When to do the rainbow sensory bin
This sensory bin is fantastic to do when kids are learning about colors--such as the colors of the rainbow--or it can be incorporated into a Saint Patrick's Day-style activity during March. This also is a fun STEM activity when children are learning about light and the color spectrum.
