Cacti Fork Painting Activity
At Colonial Preschool in Kansas City, they learned about desert plants such as cacti and painted their own versions!
Making cacti
To do this activity the children were given hand-outs with green circles that represented cacti without their signature needles. Then, the kiddos used forks for painting that allowed them to press-on the fork and create little poky needles on the cacti! The children were excited to learn how cacti do not require a lot of water in the desert and are very nutrient-rich. To defend themselves from hungry animals in the desert they evolved their needles that poke anyone who tries to touch them. The students were intrigued to learn this as they made their own prickly cacti with the paint!
