Nature-Based Hair Salon Activity
At Roxanne's Little Explorers Childminding, the children had so much fun doing a hair salon activity that utilized various elements of nature!
Foraging for flowers
It was a stellar activity for developing fine motor skills as the children carefully dug in the garden as they discussed how Spring had brought blooming flowers. Flowers of different colors were picked-out and then the children used scissors to snip the flowers that were wanted.
Doing the salon
A drawing of a princess had been made with a marker on a large piece of cardboard by the teacher. The children used paintbrushes to spread glue all over the hair of the princess. Then, the students took the flowers they had picked and spread them all throughout the princess's hair to create a gorgeous style. The flowers looked beautiful with their assorted colors. It was a great craft!
