Peanut Butter and Jelly Writing

Peanut Butter and Jelly Writing
Use this activity to actively engage students in procedural writing while also having fun! There is also a graphing section to teach students how to graph data.
I started this activity by acting out how to incorrectly make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I bought all the materials and I asked students to tell me how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I followed their directions extremely literally to show them how we need details in our writing to be more clear. They thought it was hilarious and it really showed them how we need to be more precise in our language.
At the end, we talked about our preferences in our sandwiches, shared them, and graphed data on those preferences.
