Centers Idea: Name and Alphabet Tracing

When you are putting together various centers for students to do one that could work well is having the students work at tracing their name and the general alphabet! They did some name and alphabet tracing at Nataly's Learning Center and the kiddos really enjoyed it. It is important to know how to spell your name and it is often one of the first things that little ones learn.

Tracing names and letters
Having a center where kiddos can practice tracing their name along with general letters is a great way to practice handwriting, literacy development, and the kids will be proud to be developing their writing skills! You can incorporate this center with a variety of themes too. For example, if your theme is the winter you can have the students trace words about cold weather. If you're writing about the Ocean, you can have kiddos trace words like, "Fish," and, "Sharks." There are many possibilities!
