Eat a Nutrition Rainbow

During our "We Like to Move it" theme, the Kindergarten students learned about the different vitamins and minerals in food that give our bodies what they need to move, play, and learn.

Our bodies need a variety of nutrients that we can get from food that are various colors.

We compared a colorful plate of food from the cafeteria with a plate of nuggets and fries. They also had the opportunity to taste all the different colored fruits and salad ingredients.

In groups, the students identified as many different colored foods as they could name. Next, they drew the foods that they thought of and pasted their drawing on a recycled plate from their fruit snack.
