Fun Gross Motor Skills Activity with Cake Boards and Giraffe Ribbon

They did a fun gross motor skills activity at Here We Grow Preschool! It was a fantastic way for the preschoolers to learn about size, measurement, gross motor planning, and multi-step directions. The kids loved stepping around with their big boots made out of the cake boards and giraffe ribbon--you can do this activity too!

How to assemble the gross motor skills activity

To do this activity you just need the following:

*Giraffe ribbon

*Cake boards

*Markers

*Ruler

How to do this gross motor skills activity

To do this activity follow these steps:

1. Measure your cake boards and make sure they are equal in size.

2. Draw on the cake boards for fun if you want--note the size, draw giraffes to fit the theme of the ribbon, whatever you want!

3. Attach giraffe ribbon to the cake boards in a big enough loop to fit your feet.

4. Slide your feet onto the cake boards under the giraffe ribbon and try to (carefully) walk around!
