Play with artificial snow
Play with artificial snow.
This activity is excellent to do in places where snow does not fall, like on my island.
Goals:
1. Science: Knowing how the mixture of two substances helps us create artificial snow.
2. Sensory: Explore with the sense of touch the substances we use to create snow.
3. Artistic: Manipulate artificial snow to create snowmen.
Materials you will need:
1. Some book that talks about snow or snowmen. On this occasion use: The biggest snowman ever.
2. Baking Soda
3. Shaving cream
4. Materials that you can use to create the snowman's body parts, such as buttons, wooden sticks, small branches and stones, seeds, etc. This time I used parts of the Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe Head toy.
Procedure:
Read the chosen book with the child and talk about the topic. Then invite the child to explore and mix the shaving cream and Baking Soda. Mix until you achieve a texture you can work with. Now start creating your snowmen and have fun.
Note: Always keep the child under the supervision of an adult and prevent him from putting the materials in his mouth, nose and eyes.
