Three Ingredients Gingerbread Holiday Ornaments

Just three simple ingredients are all that you will need to make these gingerbread holiday ornaments. Gather these ingredients: Applesauce, Cinnamon, Elmers Glue — you will also want a variety of cookie cutters and a straw or even a pencil to make a hole (while wet) at the top to lace a piece of string to hang these once they are dry.

We made these with our aToddler and Preschool and Pre-K classes as our parent gifts for our winter holiday gift. The children love to help make this easy, no bake recipe for Gingerbread ornaments. They make great small, medium, and large ornaments.

This is the recipe that we used. INGREDIENTS

-¾ cup (6 ounces) applesauce (plus a few tablespoons as needed)

-1 (4-ounce) container ground cinnamon (or about 1 cup*)

-2 tablespoons (30 grams) white liquid glue (such as Elmer’s glue)

For one of the classes we added a bit of flour too. It worked fine. I found that using flour may make them crack as they dry, but they didn’t break at all.

EXTRA SUPPLIES

-Twine or ribbon for hanging

-Straw, skewer, pencil or piping tip to make hole

-Royal icing, glitter glue, small beads, etc., for decorating
