Financial Literacy Story-Activity for Children
This is a fun activity for kids where they take various cards and put them in order to tell a story about financial literacy! By doing this story-activity, students will work on developing an understanding of concepts such as being given money and paying money for groceries. They also work on their skills of recognizing how to put the story the activity tells in order.
How to do the activity
Cut into the paper to make separate cards. You can laminate everything if wanted too so that it can be reused multiple times. Once the cards are made you can put them in the correct sequence by studying them. The cards tell the story of how a girl was given money by her mother and went to a store to buy groceries.
Correct card order
The correct order for the cards goes as such:
Mom gave money to the girl, the girl went to the store, the girl chose groceries, the girl paid the money at the register, and then the girl was given her change.
This game will be great for helping young children to understand the process of being given money, picking out groceries at the store, and then buying them with that money!
