Classroom Decor
I try to give my classroom a homey feeling. I made this tree on which we can explore the seasons. I have fabric squares in different colours to use as leaves. I simply bunch the cloth and stable. I use several colours to give dimension to the tree. In the fall the children are welcomed to a tree with dark green leaves; it is still summer after all. In October we change to red, orange and yellow. A little gold mixed is adds sparkle. Leading up to winter I remove "leaves" and put them at the base. When they are all off I put cotton snow on the branches. We then decorate the tree with Christmas decorations that we make all season. I use this project to study seasons, to observe changes and temperatures that are related and to the changes and to have a way to change the classroom decor so that it stays fresh and interesting.
