Fire Fighting Dramatic Play
This week, we have been learning about being a firefighter. We have a 911 area and the fire station, as well as some firefighter costumes. I have set up an area as a fire station and put fire on red SOLO cups. Students have been setting up the cups in different areas and putting the "fire" out. It has been so much fun! It is what students want to do at every opportunity. It has also been a great opportunity to introduce new vocabulary to students and have them use it. This time has created natural oral language opportunities as well. They are communicating as they call for help and as they work together to put the fire out.
