Hello I live in Japan. I have been teaching Japanese children English. I have been looking for some materials that Japanese children will motivate to learn English. I’m so happy to join you.
I am a mind mapper. I often use a mind map which makes children think a lot. Today is about food. I would like them to learn how to pronounce the word and how to write the word.
Japanese children often hesitate to speak out in front of people.
So I want them to get relax and tell friends about their favorite food.
It is good practice to introduce their own favorite things.
1. give them a mindmap form
2. Teach them food words with cards.
(pizza, spaghetti, hamburger French fries hot dog, salad, taco, burrito, sandwich, sushi, noodles, rice, tofu, pancakes, egg, bread, butter, cheese, cereal, yogurt etc)
3. Show them a picture book about food.
3. Let them think what they would want to eat.
4. Draw pictures.
5. Show and tell (they introduce their favorite food)
