Making A Town. The work after making the town was to learn and find the shops and public buildings
The work continued over a few classes. Making up stories where a character ordered in a restaurant or went shopping etc .
The possibilities are endless. We used toy cars in the streets, learning about traffic lights and zebra crossings. We took in turns to be different characters. We took in turns to drive a car, and he would tell me how to get to.
I would also play at going in the wrong direction that he could correct me. I also played at being an awkward customer in a shop to see how he would react.
My pupil is 11 years old, but his English is good. We had a lot of fun doing this exercise. I have also done it with a small group and it works well .
