Paleontology Themed Activities for Young Students

At The Children's Garden Academy, they learned about fossils and paleontology. The kids dressed-up like archeologists and then did fun activities themed for digging for and finding ancient bones.

Digging for dinos

Everyone loved digging in a big sandbox outside as they looked for toy dinosaurs in the sand. It was just like how archeologists dig in the dirt and mud for real-life dinosaurs!

Play-Doh imprints

The children studied how dirt and clay can hold imprints of feet or hands from ancient creatures. They practiced examining how this happens by taking Play-Doh and making imprints themselves. It was so much fun learning about fossils, imprints, and dinosaurs!
