Sunflower Name Craft
At Kids Connection Daycare and Preschool, they did a clever craft which was themed for the sunflowers blooming now that it is Spring. The kiddos colored a sunflower whatever color they wanted and then for its stem used individual green squares of construction paper with each letter of their name. Depending on how long a student's name was some sunflowers were shorter and some were very tall!
Materials needed for this craft
To do this sunflower craft you will need the following:
*A blue sheet of construction paper for mounting
*Green construction paper
*Scissors
*Glue
*A printout of a sunflower's top (the petals and such)
*A pen or black fine-tip marker
*Crayons or markers
How to do this craft
Follow these steps for the sunflower craft:
1. Take your green construction paper and cut out as many green squares as there are letters in your name.
2. Use your pen to write a letter of your name on each green square.
3. Glue your green squares in the order of your name from the top down on your blue sheet of construction paper.
4. Color your sunflower's head with your crayons/markers
5. Glue your sunflower atop the stem.
6. Wait for the glue to dry and show everyone your sunflower name craft!
