Weather Special
My classroom of special learners is learning about the different types of weather we experience in our area. We use a variety of tactile symbols, communication devices, and a little bit of magic to ensure our lessons are 100% accessible.
I created a presentation on Canva to ensure my materials are easily viewable for my visually impaired students. The first slide has an animated photo of the Sun with the question, "Is it Sunny outside today?" I then go around to each of my students and have them turn on/off a flashlight to symbolize the bright sun. Next, I ask 'Is it rainy?' after allowing my students to spray a water bottle full of water into a bowl. This allows my students to gain multiple modes of information.
