Exploring Our Pumpkin

Exploring our pumpkin

To carry out this activity you will need the following materials:

Book that talks about pumpkins, I used Little Pumpkin from Igloo Books.

A pumpkin

Drawing of a scarecrow (I got it on the internet)

Tools to dig the gourd.

Battery candle or lantern

Some drawing of your preference to paste seeds.

Small or large container to sow.

Soil

To start our activity, the first thing we did was read the book Little Punpkin, which told us about the life cycle of the pumpkin, among other things. Then we work on what we have learned from the life cycle of this by cutting out the sheets and gluing them in order using a worksheet from The education center page. The next thing we did was turn our pumpkin into a scarecrow just like we saw in the book. Then invite the girls to dig out the pumpkin, we remove the seeds, wash them and put them away. We made a drawing of a face of a Sesame Street character on the pumpkin. Using small containers we sow our seeds. We glued the seeds that were left over in the drawing of a porcupine.
