Making a volcano

Materials

plastic bottle

old / used paper

glue

plastic plate

water colours

red food colour

vinegar

baking soda

On a plastic plate we glue a bottle, then we make paper balls an we glue them around the bottle. We shape the paper to resemble a volcano, then we paint it.

With vinegar, red food colour and baking soda we make the volcano erupt.

We made two teams, each team had 6 - 7 members. All worked nicely together to finish the make the volcano. The kids learned to work together, to listen the opinion of the others members of the group, to accept the choise of the majority, etc.

In the end, they were very excited to see the eruption.
