Start and End of Year Hopes and Reflection Activity

This activity from Huntington Woods Christian Preschool is a great way for preschoolers to say what they are hopeful for at the start of the year and then to reflect on what then enjoyed in the year once it is over!

How to do this activity

To do this activity you give a preschooler a sheet of paper at the start of the year and ask them to write down something they hope the school year will have/teach them/what they want to do during the year. Take the piece of paper and store it away.

At the end of the school year give the child back the piece of paper and have them flip it and write on the opposite side what their favorite part of the year was. Discuss with the child if what they hoped to happen during the year did and if it relates to what their favorite part was of the year as well!

After the child has reflected on the school year have them take the piece of paper home as a way to remember everything they did during this school year!
