Preschool Hallway Fun

Help preschoolers learn to walk in the hallway by keeping it fun! It is difficult for young children to walk in a straight line quietly. Giving them a task to do while travelling through the hallway will make it fun, keep them busy and potentially avoid behaviors, and helps them follow directions. They will need to listen to how they will be walking and follow those directions. Here are some examples to keep it fun:

Flap your wings like a bird

Waddle like a penguin

Chug like a train

Sneak like a ninja

Fly like an airplane

Balance like a tight rope walker

March like a soldier

Help children with decision making by choosing a new student each day to pick how the class will walk. You can make a visual chart with options to help give them ideas. This activity is fun for the children and allows them to stay busy and entertained while walking through the hallway.
