In Mrs. Krissi’s class at Elite Education in Gallatin, Tennessee they explored leaves by using a leaf reporting worksheet!
We have been loving our celebration of this autumn season. Leaves galore. I have been slowly adding loose parts into our work time. My classroom is a mix of many philosophies. Also, I enjoy offering the children many different ways to build a child’s skills. For some children, I am introducing new skills, such as cutting with a scissors, for the first time. When one of our little guys learned to cut, he giggled every time he cut his leaf. Pure joy and a great feeling for a teacher.
Sometimes when certain limitations are imposed upon a craft is can encourage all kinds of creativity. With this in mind Heaven Sent Nursery School in Hackettstown, New Jersey had students make their own Fall trees with only construction paper made out of rectangles to form the shape of the tree!
The other day at Learning Ship Christian Preschool they did this mess-free sensory fall leaf painting activity! It is a wonderful idea and a great way to explore the changing colors that happen with the Fall season in a manner that engages the senses.
One thing often associated with Fall is all the leaves! These free printable worksheets for preschool and kindergarten students incorporate Autumn leaves into a number of great educational lessons!
